Boho styled Micro Wedding in Hampshire :: Hannah + Mike

Those were the words that appeared several days later in the Hampshire Life magazine! I was made aware of them by an excited text I received from Hannah with a link to the article saying ‘was this us? It was written on the 23rd Oct!!’. Well, it definitely must have been came my reply.

So cool and totally fitting that Hannah & Mike had caused such a stir in their otherwise sleepy Hampshire village that a contributor to the county magazine should have noticed them and included them in their article ‘Why you should move to Overton’. You can see the article here.

I‘ve actually known Hannah and her family since we moved to where we are now in Old Basing in 2002 and I always remember her saying on one of my Facebook posts about 8 years ago ‘I’d love for you to photograph my wedding one day’…or words to that effect. Well, the very real prospect of that came last year with announcement that she had got engaged to Mike, a fellow military ‘hero’.

That ‘very real’ prospect quickly turned into a booking when their date was set and plans were made. Quite a few of those plans unfortunately had to change in response to the pandemic but the date and their church remained the same. So did all of the amazing styling. With Hannah’s creative and artistic flair it was no surprise that she went for a beautiful Boho themed wedding – the dress, the simply gorgeous flower crown to beautifully frame that brightest of smiles, and the most amazing colours played out in all the floristry and bridesmaids dresses – not to mention the Tibetan prayer flags that adorned their beautifully decorated reception room at The White Hart in Overton. Those flags were such a lovely touch, being symbolic of where they first met. I subsequently found out that Mike used those colourful flags as inspiration for the engagement he had made for her.

All together the most awesome day. And the best part? There’s more to come! Like many of my couples this year they are having a wedding celebration at Clock Barn next year so that they can share it all with the rest of their friends and family.
