Jodie + Chris’s Stunning Summer Outdoor Wedding at Farnham Castle

Jodie and Chris, where to begin? The experience I’ve had with this couple has been synonymous with everything that has been good with my life as a wedding photographer, particularly so in 5+ years of knowing them – right from Jodie’s initial enquiry in October 2018 to when they finally had their glorious and stunning summer outdoor wedding at Farnham Castle in 2023.

Let me explain. Fortunately I’ve now got to the stage in my career when quite often I get asked my availability BEFORE a couple set their date and book their venue. Jodie and Chris are one of those couples. To quote part of Jodie’s enquiry ‘As securing a photographer is just as important as the venue I was wondering if you have availability on either of those days please? I have been following your work on Instagram for a few weeks and absolutely love the photos you capture and would really like for you to capture our special day.‘ Wow!

Secondly, the pandemic had the potential to put an abrupt end to my business which had been 12 years in the making but fortunately many of my couples showed amazing loyalty towards me, not only rescheduling their dates around my availability but also kickstarting my cashflow again with early payments. Jodie and Chris were one of those couples.

Thirdly, these days many of my brides (and sometimes grooms!) love to stay in touch, particularly with comments and messages on social media. I absolutely love this as my couples mean so much more to me than just another booking. Anyhow, and yes you’ve guessed it, Jodie was one of those brides!

And last, but by no means least, their wedding day arrives and the couple make me feel like one of their friends – feeding and watering me, bantering with me, checking to see if I need this or need that and even wanting photos with me (you might just spot one of them below…)! Of course – the very lovely Jodie and Chris were one of those couples.

Oh and do you know what? Jodie even said to me towards the end of the day (probably just after we’d got the photos together, taken by my fabulous second photographer, Nadine) ‘we will stay in touch, won’t we?

Well, without further ado, ladies and gentlemen I hereby give you the absolutely delightful, gorgeous and darn right fabulous human beings – Jodie and Chris. On their wedding day; laughing, joking and just looking absolutely stunning. All. Day. Long.
