The Wasing Park Wedding of Hayley & Darryl
There are many reasons why I’ve been looking forward to showcasing this particular wedding. The fact it was a lovely Christmassy wedding is high up on the list. You can also add in the fabulous venue, Wasing Park, the wonderfully charismatic Hayley & Darryl and all their guests (particularly the Plymouth contingent!) and Hayley’s choir singing Christmas carols during the ceremony.
But the main reason is that it provides the answer to one of the most common questions that I as a wedding photographer receive, and that is ‘what do we do if it rains?’. As I say the answer is right here in this blog – just study all the photos and you’ll see what I mean. In short the answer is ’embrace it and let’s make particular use of any decent weather that we do get’. That’s exactly what Hayley and Darryl did! True to forecast (for once!) a huge storm swept across Wasing Park towards then end of the bridal preps, reaching it’s peak as Hayley made her way into the church. Fortunately it finally cleared during their wedding breakfast, leaving the most beautiful evening light before nightfall. And the icing on the cake came long after the sun had gone down in the form of a very rare rainbow like halo around the moon.
Here’s the story of Hayley & Darryl’s day.
